About ZimTax

ZimTax (payecalculator.co.zw) is a free online suite of tax and salary calculators built specifically for Zimbabwe. Our tools help employees, employers, HR professionals, job seekers, and importers quickly understand their tax obligations without needing an accountant or a spreadsheet.

Why We Built ZimTax

Calculating take-home pay in Zimbabwe is genuinely complicated. You need to apply progressive PAYE tax bands, subtract an NSSA pension contribution that is capped at a specific earnings threshold, and then add an AIDS levy calculated as a percentage of your PAYE — not your salary. On top of that, Zimbabwe operates in two currencies (USD and ZiG), each with its own set of tax bands and caps.

Most Zimbabwean workers have no easy way to verify whether their payslip is correct. They either trust their employer's payroll system blindly or attempt the calculations manually using ZIMRA tables — a process that is error-prone and time-consuming. ZimTax was built to solve that problem. Enter your gross salary, press calculate, and see your full breakdown in seconds.

We also built ZimTax for employers and HR teams who need to quickly estimate total payroll costs, and for job seekers who want to evaluate a salary offer in terms of what they will actually take home, not just the number on the offer letter.

How We Keep the Data Accurate

Our calculators are based on the official ZIMRA (Zimbabwe Revenue Authority) tax tables. We update the tax bands, NSSA caps, and AIDS levy rate whenever ZIMRA announces changes — typically at the start of the fiscal year or following the national budget. Each page displays the date the tax data was last updated so you always know what version you are using.

For the most current and legally binding figures, we always recommend confirming with the official ZIMRA website or a qualified tax professional, particularly for complex situations such as multiple income sources, non-cash benefits, or self-employment.

Your Privacy

All calculations on ZimTax happen entirely in your browser. When you enter a salary and press calculate, the numbers are processed locally using JavaScript — nothing is sent to our servers. We do not collect, store, or transmit your salary or personal financial data in any form. The only data we collect is standard anonymous website analytics (page views, country of visitor, device type) through Google Analytics, which helps us understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
